Our mission is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens.  We do this with purpose, passion, and patience.  There is neither a more basic nor more important reason for our purpose and passion to be challenged than for us to assist our members in becoming competitive in their basic skills, in their academics, in their ability to participate on the playground, and in their access to computers to overcome the "digital divide."  We approach the challenge with patience.

Founded in 1911 and chartered in 1915 by the then fledgling Boys Clubs of America, the Boys & Girls Club of Plymouth has served the town and its surrounding communities for nearly 100 years.  The Club's recent history mirrors that of the re-chartered Boys & Girls Clubs of America where "gym and swim" has been replaced with more academic pursuits (basic skills and homework help), fitness and agility exercises for both boys and girls suited to individual and small group physical development.  The Club moved to its own new 17,000 square foot facility at 9 Renik Road in 2003.  The Club is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization (EIN 04-2103926).

The Boys & Girls Club of Plymouth offers young people what they need and want most; adults who respect and listen to them; a safe environment where they can have fun and be themselves; and interesting, constructive activies that channel youthful energy into challenging pursuits.

A youth development strategy underlies all Boys & Girls Club programs and fosters a sense of belonging, competence, usefulness, and upward influence in their Club that builds self-confidence and self-esteem.

The Boys & Girls Club of Plymouth is part of nationwide affiliation of local, autonomous organizations working to help youth of all backgrouds develop the qualities needed to become responsible citizens and leaders.  It is facility-baed, employs 3 full-time, 11 part-time, and 47 volunteers and offers daily access to a board range of programs in five core program areas:  Character and Leadership Development; Education and Career Development; Health and Life Skills; The Arts; and Sports, Fitness and Recreation.  Over 800 boys and girls are members of the Plymouth Club.
